The Way Past Winter

Mila lives with her two sisters and brother, Sanna ,Pipa and Oscar. They live in a land of eternal Winter. The people say that this is Bjorn's doing. Bjorn is the guardian of the forest and his natural form is a bear, although he can shapeshift. They believe that he caused this Winter because people do not take care for the forest and this is their punishment. Mila's mother died when she was young. Their father, on the other hand, one day walked into the forest, and never returned. Together the children are able to collect just enough supplies to survive. One snowy evening a stranger, followed by a army of boys, knock's on their door.  The next morning they find that Oscar has vanished. And so has the stranger and his army... Assuming that Oscar went with the stranger and, remembering that the stranger mentioned having business in Bovnik, they head North. In Bovnik they find the stranger and his army of boys have already passed through. But all is not lost: the town mage, Rune, tells them that the stranger is actually Bjorn, the guardian of the forest. Together Rune, Mila and Pippa set out to find a mythical island, where Bjorn is said to live. Maybe, just maybe, they can bring back both Oscar and Spring...
