Wings of Fire: Arc 1

Wings of Fire is my favourite series. I love how the books are not always serious- there are really funny parts- but are serious enough at the right moments. The series consists of three arcs (parts): The Dragonet Prophecy, The Jade Mountain Prophecy, The Lost Continent Prophecy and two 'Legends' books, which give more background to the series. It is a great series for when you start reading longer books but it's also perfect for average readers.

                                                   Arc 1

                                                      The Dragonet Prophecy

Clay (Mudwing),Tsunami (Seawing), Sunny (Sandwing),Starflight (Nightwing) and Glory (Rainwing) live in a cave under a mountain. They have lived their whole lives with their guardians Kestrel, Dune and Webs in a cave. The guardians are part of an organisation called 'The Talons Of Peace,' with the sole purpose to fulfil a prophecy which says that five dragonets, each of a different tribe and born on "the brightest night", will be kept in a cave until the war between the dragon tribes has lasted 20 years. After which they will chose one of the 3 Sandwing heirs and end the war. The dragonets are eager to escape their trapped life and mean guardians, so they do. They set out on a quest to find each of their parents and fulfil the prophecy. But the world is harsher that the dragonets expected and they soon make a lot of enemies, enemies who want them dead …

Each book in the series is written from the point of view of a different dragon. This is a smart way to help readers understand why characters do certain things and to see things from their perspective. My age recommendation is 11 and older, because the series contains a bit of violence.

Point of view:
BOOK 1: CLAY
BOOK 2: TSUNAMI
BOOK 3:GLORY
BOOK 4:STARFLIGHT
BOOK 5:SUNNY

Pages: 200-400
