Hetty Feather lives with her foster family in a small village in England. She loves living with them, so she is heart broken when the time comes to leave her family and go to the Foundling Hospital. The Hospital is a cruel place, filled with nasty matrons and mean children. She makes a few friends, but sadly even this is jeopardised. England in the 1800's is not a good place to be at such a young age, but in Hetty's mind anything is better than the Hospital.
